Recently I have seen issues with both methods. (Accept it or be upset.) Multiple installs cause Bnet update with out end. Dota Utilities do not work either.

Maphack 1.26 A 7

These both talk about versions other than the current Bnet version 1.28.5.7680. (My current work around is to save the original folder for later use as the dual folders in C: as mentioned above apparently are not doing well with the registry.) Now when I access Bnet, I have to experience an install. When I exchange the updated version with the 1.26 to access clients, it appears to work fine. (It's okay by me to do it this way for now.) This at least gets the job done.

As for the Dota updater, seems would be great if it actually were updated, had simple instructions (located in one location) and worked. I don't recommend trying the Dota Utility at all. Hi,I never recommended using dota utilities version switcher (if thats what u mean) on 1.28.5 at all. It only works on 1.27 and below. Now you having issues with my methods probably has to do that you did something wrong. I recommend deleting everything that has to do with WC3 on your PC (uninstall + delete folders) and clean install a fresh new wc3. OFC backup your maps, replays, screenshot etc before that.As most people gave me positive feedback about my offered solutions in order to play wc3 on different versions on the same pc, I think it has to do with you doing something wrong.Kind regardsena. None of these extra steps are necessary, I don't know why so many people have trouble with this.

1.26

I switch between 1.26a and 1.28 very easily without requiring any additional setup. Before I updated to 1.28 I had my game setup on 1.26a and working with W3A using the official Bnet patch for 1.26a. When I download the 1.28 patch, it installs a new Launcher.exe that I now run instead of Frozenthrone.exe which allows me to play 1.28 using the new Launcher.exe while keeping 1.26a on the Frozenthrone.exeIt does not require any extra steps or unnecessary downloads or secondary installs. I only have one copy of wc3 installed with one cd-key, and all I have to do is run the new Launcher.exe for 1.28 or if I run W3A it loads Frozenthrone.exe which is automatically on 1.26 its very very simpleI have talked to several people about this, and I know many people like to have 2 separate installs of the game for each version, but this can cause problems. If you move wc3 out of its default location you can screw up your Registry which makes it almost impossible to reinstall correctly, and is even possible to have your CD-Keys banned if you are not careful.Just wanted to point that out. I have had several people ask me for help fixing their registry after trying to setup 2 installs like in enas guide. I am only letting people know this is not necessary for w3a. I also talked to ena on discord and he said neteaze works on 1.26 and 1.28 just the same, so Im not sure what problems neteaze users have cuz I dont use neteaze, but this guide is for w3a not neteazeI will post a video tutorial how I setup w3a on 1.26 and can still play 1.28 without any extra setup and with only one install.

I am only trying to prevent people from risking a temporary ban or messing up their registry, as that is a possibility when installing 2 copies. It is not supported by blizzard and may even be a violation of bnet security, as that is one possible way players can cheat or run multiple bots (which is not a good thing)Also, when you have 2 folders, does that mean you have an extra copy of all the maps? An extra folder that replays get saved to? That seems confusing and annoying IMO. If there is an easier way, why go through this extra hassle? If it is just for preference fine, but 2 installs are not necessary.

Instead, the ancient Spirit of Vengeance resurrects him and gives him Wraith’s powers. A moment later, he also says goodbye to life but it is not the end of the story. Shadow of mordor black screen on startup.

Anyway, ena already asked me for a video guide explaining why I think this is all unnecessary to running w3a, but like I said i dont know about neteaze. I will post my video soon:).

I asked you to do a video but I didn't ask you to talk bullshit and give invalid statements. 1.26 and 1.28 do not use the same folders for replay and maps saving anyways.

Having two folders won't get you banned nor is a violation of the security measurement as the only folder you are using for playing on BNet is the original one. Please just prove your point using a CLEAN wc3 install within a video and stop talking unnecessary and wrong crap. If people misuse solutions, it's the people's fault not doing it right. After all that said, I agree with you that having only one folder is of course a better and slimmer solution than having two folders (if one folder version switching doesn't require too many complicated steps to do if you want to switch versions everytime).Cheers.
